Fundraising

Fundraising is required to allow us to pay for the day to day costs of running a playschool.

Bingos

A parent or designate must work one bingo event per child during the year. Bingos are major fundraising activities and an obligatory contribution to the Woodvale Community League which provides significant financial support to the Playschool. If you cannot attend your bingo, you must find someone over 18 years old to replace you. Failure to work your designated bingo will result in a $500.00 fine, (a $200.00 cheque post dated for the date of your bingo event is required at the fall Registration meeting and will only be cashed if you fail to show up for your bingo). This cheque will be cashed on the first business day following the bingo. The Bingo Association can and does impose monetary fines if even one person is absent for a Bingo. If you would like the opportunity to earn some extra money, the Association provides parents with a list of people who are able to work a Bingo for a fee ($50.00 for the 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm Bingo, $75.00 for the 5:00 pm - Midnight Bingo). If you would like to be on the Bingo Worker List, please sign up at registration or at the playschool.

Rules and Reminders

  1. All volunteers are required to be there from 4:45 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
  2. Volunteers are asked to meet with the Floor Manager upon Arrival
  3. Volunteers will be given a short break with food up to the value of $8.00 from the Concession.
  4. Wear comfortable shoes as you will most likely be standing or walking for most of your shift.
  5. The $200.00 bingo deposit check will be cashed if neither the scheduled volunteer nor their replacement shows up for the shift.
